Making logos - the easy way?

Ever wondered how we create all the logos that you see on the site? Wonder no more - this tutorial takes you through the basics of logo creation, as well as letting you into a few of the tips and techniques we've picked up in the year or so we've been creating logos. We're not promising you'll be creating perfect logos every time after reading this tutorial, but you will hopefully be on your way...

Tools of the trade

The first thing you need to know is what tools we use. All of the logos you see on the site are created using Paintshop Pro 7. However, you could use almost any modern paint package. During this tutorial it will be assumed that you are using Paintshop Pro 7.

Where's Wally?

Perhaps the hardest - definitely the most important - part of creating a logo is finding a picture or an topic that you want to create a logo from. The internet is always a good place to start. Try to find pictures that don't have complicated backgrounds, and that aren't too big. You can use Paintshop Pro 7's built in image capture functions to capture all or part of an image.
